Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB to Announce Dates, Time and Fee for 2019/2020 UTME Optional Mock Examination.
Latest Update: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), would soon announce the date for the conduct of the 2019 Mock Examination.
This became necessary following the unfounded rumors being circulated about the dates for the Mock and the UTME. The Board introduced the Mock examination (optional) in 2017 to avail candidates of the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conduct of a computerized test, fine tune the Board’s examination processes, and test the facilities at the CBT centres before the main examination for a hitch free examination.
The Mock examination is also an opportunity for the candidates, particularly those coming in contact with computers for the first time, to eliminate any phobia.
During the registration exercise, candidates who express interest are given the opportunity to take the optional mock examination before the main examination.
This year’s exercise is the third in the series of Mock examinations conducted by the Board. In the meantime, all arrangements have been concluded for the conduct of the Mock Examination and the 2019 UTME.
The Board urged all candidates to disregard all the rumours being bandied around and wait for the new dates of the 2019 Mock and UTME that would be announced in due course. The public is also to note that the Mock examination as its name implies, would not be used for any assessment process.
This clarification becomes necessary because of insinuations from some quarters that marks from the Mock examination would be added to scores obtained in the main examination.
The Board enjoined all candidates to jealously guard all their documents pertaining to the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination/Direct Entry.
All Candidates who registered for the 2019/2020 JAMB UTME Examinations are hereby informed that an optional mock examination will be conducted for them and as such interested candidates are to check the dates and time below.
As was done last year and previous years, the Board will also conduct a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and familiarize INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment.
Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during registration provided it is on or before 31st January, 2019.
The MOCK examination shall commence from Saturday 23rd February, 2019.
The CBT Centres are allowed to collect, through their bank accounts, a separate Seven Hundred Naira (N700) only, for this exercise from only interested candidate after notification of centre has been received by the candidate.
The payment for mock examination by the candidate shall be made to the centre to which the candidate is assigned after the notification of assigned centres for the mock examination.
No Association or body is permitted to run any mock examination on behalf of JAMB.
Candidates Posted to JAMB Offices Nationwide for the Mock Examination are to note that there will be no MOCK Fee but Free of Charge for the Examination.
- DO NOT PAY FOR MOCK UNTIL JAMB ASSIGNS YOU TO A CBT CENTRE.
