The 14th matriculation ceremony of fresh undergraduate students of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo was held in the Alakija Law Faculty Auditorium on Thursday 10th January, 2019.

More than 500 undergraduate students participated in the ceremony where they were formally admitted into the University through the event.

While addressing the new students, some of whom were accompanied by their parents, the Vice-Chancellor Rt. Revd. Prof. Dapo Asaju admonished them to be serious with their academics.

He told them to avoid negative peer influence. He reminded them that the University examines students in character and learning, and prayed that none of them will be expelled on account of misbehaviour.

The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Rt. Rev. Professor Dapo F. Asaju, also advised students in the University to take advantage of the uninterrupted time table of the institution to complete their studies in due time.

He said the University runs its programmes without interruption of strikes by academic and non-academic staff. The implication being that serious students would complete their studies in due time because studies and general academic work go on without interruption.

He said the University currently has 22 programmes , fully accredited by the National Universities Commission [NUC] , in eight faculties.

The University offers postgraduate programmes in most the courses. The NUC will soon come to verify the institution’s readiness to award doctorate degrees in the courses.

The students, who have registered for Master’s degree, could continue with the University if they wished, and made good grades to qualify them for doctoral work. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor said the University also pays close attention to discipline and spirituality of students at all levels.

The Registrar Hon. Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun administered the oath to the postgraduate students who affirmed that they were not cultists, homosexuals, or drug dealers, and took an oath not to engage in such activities. They pledged to obey authorities of the University in maintaining discipline, and ensuring smooth academic progress in the University.
